The 12 Days of Christmas (Amendments version)

While the YouTube video quality is not ideal, it does let you watch and hear it and from that I hope it will inspire you to go get the actual movie and watch it in High Definition. I found it available for streaming rental on Amazon.

Along those same lines it was fun to come across two songs that should help in learning the Amendments to the Constitution and the States and Capitals in the U.S. This person on YouTube, who goes by “theiceburg72”, has posted two songs. While the singing is not going to win any awards I applaud the initiative and creativity this person took in actually sharing these two songs; proceed with that disclaimer and see the value in this helping to actually commit to memory what we probably forgot several years ago. There are variations of this theme posted out there, again what I liked was the s incerity of this person.

ConstitutionSongOnYouTube

Amendments to the Constitution Song by theiceburg72 “A song for learning the amendments to the US Constitution. Sung to the tune of “Polly Wolly Doodle” and “Swanee River”.

Amy H States and Capitals Song by theiceburg72 “States and capitals set to the tune “I’ve been Workin’ on the Railroad”.

Perhaps in looking at these selections you will be inspired to come up with your own kind of version for something that reflects your hobby or interest area. The options could be to focus on one item, i.e. letter writing, stamp collecting, scrapbooking, horse back riding, bird watching, knitting, folk dancing, or something else – the options are endless. I just don’t think I will be using “99 bottles of beer on the wall” though for the tune!

One more time, “On the twelfth day of Christmas, ….”
